It’s been a wonderful journey, but the journey of One Piece has come to an end. With the recent announcement that One Piece is in its final saga, it’s time for us to remember all the One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members throughout the manga.
As a member of the Straw Hat Pirate Crew, we’ve spun a story that has captured the hearts of so many. It’s been such an honor to bring so much joy and delight to our readers, and this is just the beginning. We promise big things are in store for all those who are joining us on this journey through time!
What is the total number of straw hat pirates?
There are a total of 12 straw hat pirates crew members.
The captain often recruits new members to the crew. However, not all members need to be current pirates. Vivi was once a princess of a nation, and had other duties to take care of before joining the crew.
Out of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet’s six main members, there are more than five thousand members.
Here is the joining order of the One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members:
- Monkey.D.Luffy
- Zoro
- Nami
- Usopp
- Sanji
- Vivi
- Tony Tony Chopper
- Nico Robin
- Franky
- Brook
- Jinbei
- Yamato
The List of One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members
1. Monkey.D.Luffy – Beginning of One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members
Luffy is introduced as a 17 year old in the anime, and also the one who be the first one in One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members.
He started the Straw Hat Pirates on a raft and just sailed into the ocean. Before beginning his journey, he acquired the powers of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which made his body rubber.
As Luffy continued to travel around the world, he went on to acquire the three types of Haki and register himself as one of the Emperors of the Sea. This happened after he awakened the real powers of his devil fruit, which was revealed to be a Mythical Zoan type instead of a Paramecia type. This allowed Luffy to become a reincarnated version of a powerful deity from One Piece’s mythos – Nika, and bash one of the most powerful villains in that universe – Kaido
2. Zoro
This is quite crazy– Zorro, the famous pirate hunter, has now become a full-fledged pirate!
Zoro is introduced as a 19-year-old in the anime, and the second in One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members.
Luffy rescued Zoro from execution, forcing him to join his crew of pirates. Zoro was the second member of the Straw Hats, and he didn’t have any specific ability. His swords are enough to destroy any opponent and could even wield three at one time.
One of the most important sword techniques in One Piece is Zoro’s “3-Sword Style.” This technique was further upgraded into a King of Hell style during the Wano arc, which Luffy introduced him to. Using this technique, he can fully unlock Armament Haki and Conqueror’s Haki potential.
3. Nami
Putting Nami in the third spot is sometimes tough. This is because, although she tagged along with Luffy and Zoro, she officially became a member later in the story. Luffy obviously considered her a mugiwara pirate from the get go (which did not align with Nami’s intentions), but with time he became one scary lady.
Nami is introduced as an 18-year-old in the anime and one of One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members.
When the pirates need to move quickly, and the situation is intense, Nami uses her polearm for close-quarters combat. This weapon has been further bolstered by the addition of Zeus, which gives her additional powers needed in tense situations.
4. Usopp
It’s a good idea to analyze other characters before drawing conclusions about the main character. Readers should not confuse Usopp with Sogeking, since they’re clearly two different people.
Ussop is introduced as a 17-year-old in the anime.
He comes from Syrup Village, and surprisingly, his father is a member of Shanks’s crew!
Usopp’s fear has prevented him from being a true hunter like Luffy in their crew. Usopp is not physically or mentally strong, so he causes himself to rely on his long-range weapons as well as his innovative fighting styles.
5. Sanji
Luffy was looking for a cook to join his crew and was finally found by Sanji.
In the anime, Sanji is a 19-year-old boy.
As part of the Straw Hat Pirates, Sanji is a representative of the fishman race, but he was not born with this power. He undergoes training in order to reach Monkey D. Luffy and Zoro, who attained their maximum potential as well.
Sanji has a plethora of talents that make him formidable. Apart from being an excellent cook, he’s also the best ladies’ man in the world, and won’t harm even the fiercest opponent if they’re a woman; he trains only his legs so they can become sickle-like weapons to dishing out a beating. Sanji specializes in his kicking abilities, which don’t seem as impressive as punches or blows. His specialty is pyro element technique and has developed a variety of ways to do it using only his lower half.
6. Vivi
Vivi is a former member of the Straw Hat Pirates, who joined when the events of the Whiskey Peak Arc concluded.
She is introduced as a 16 year old in the series.
Pirates — particularly a princess – have been known to produce dramatic stories with twists and turns. Glancing through the course of events, a princess who was part of the Arabasta Kingdom’s journey when Luffy and his team were present made an unexpected exit from the story without an explanation.
The future is uncertain for the former member of the Mugiwara pirates. Despite being unassuming and ordinary, she was able to give the crew quite a scare when working as an agent for Baroque Works. We’ll see if Vivi makes it back as an official member.
7. Tony Tony Chopper
When Luffy caught sight of Chopper, he knew that they were in need of a medical doctor. After all, it’s an unavoidable reality on long voyages: People get sick and without doctors on board, it’ll be difficult for the rest of the Mugiwara pirates to continue on their travels. Thus, Chopper became the latest addition to their crew after Sanji.
This show was introduced as a new, mind-blowing anime series to the scene.
We’ve learned that pirate-like fruits with devilish powers do exist.
He has the power of the Human-Human Devil Fruit, which allows him to turn into a hybrid of human and reindeer. With the rumble ball’s powers, he can further gain versatility on the battlefield. But what became known for him is his medical expertise, something that has needlessly helpful medically in the Straw Hat Crew.
8. Nico Robin
With the introduction of Nico Robin and Chopper, One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members became much more dynamic than ever before. The iconic devil fruit users came in hot with a new power-up that sent the Straw Hats flying. With the addition of Nico Robin and Chopper, One Piece became even more interesting.
In the game A place to grow, Robin is introduced as a 28-year old woman.
She’s known for her mysterious personality, and even as a child had that devilish aura about her. She’s been called the devil’s child, and her role in the Straw Hat Pirates is to lead them to treasure. Nico Robin has the Hana Hana no Mi which gives her the ability to sprout various body parts from different distances.
9. Franky
When Going Merry was on its last legs, that’s when Franky’s need to be a part of the team was realized. Luffy made quick work of recruiting him, and he wasted no time in putting his skills to good use.
In the anime, Franky is introduced as a 34 year old.
Franky doesn’t have any devil fruit powers but his cyborg abilities still work great. Thanks to his augmented engineering prowess, his front half is as durable as anything.
Over the course of the story, we see Franky apply major upgrades to his body and even develop himself into General Franky. He hits hard in battle and can bulldoze through almost anything. Just like a general, he can also take command in a battle and create efficient strategies.
10. Brook
When the Straw Hat Pirates finally met Brook, they were beyond excited. They had been working with a musician in order to recruit one for their crew and there hadn’t been any sign so they were exasperated.
Brook is introduced as a skeleton who appears 88 years old in the anime.
Brook is not just an open pervert, but he also has devil fruit powers.
Brook has a special power called the Yomi Yomi no Mi. It not only allows him to manipulate his own soul, but also others’ by linking with them. This allows him to achieve immortality. Brook can use this energy of his soul in battle and draw on the frozen powers of many opponents at once. Even without using his swordsmanship, he’s able to defeat enemies in a variety of ways with the combined power of multiple souls at once.
11. Jinbei
One of the more recent members of the One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members is Jinbei. Luffy has pursued him for a long time.
He is introduced as a 44-year-old in the anime.
As a former captain for the notorious Sun Pirates, Jinbei acts as the helmsman for the Strawhat Pirates’ ship, the Thousand Sunny. What makes him so powerful is not only his power, but also his identity as an ex-captain.
But when called to the battlefield for battle, he doesn’t need any devil fruits as his Fish-Man Jujutsu and incredible strength can dominate anyone.
12. Yamato
One of the newest One Piece Straw Hat Crew Members and most interesting members of Luffy’s crew is Yamato, or Oden as she quickly shortened her name.
Yamato, a 28-year old girl, is introduced in the anime.
After Kaido’s death, Luffy is suddenly greeted by a familiar face. However, the character who decides to join the crew is actually the man’s own daughter, which is pretty ironic, but perfectly illustrates the value of her addition to the crew.
Yamato is no stranger to fighting, and if that doesn’t have you running in fear then she’s got a wide variety of devil fruits up her sleeve. She’s also mastered the Conqueror’s Haki, Armament Haki and Strong Arm Haki. Yamato is guaranteed to give you more than one reason for concern.
