Hi guys!
I made a slight tweak today and presented you the “history of Goku“. I’m eager to discuss a Dragon Ball Z topic. This seemed like the ideal opportunity to talk about one of my favorite fictional characters, Goku from the manga and anime series Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. Goku is not your typical superhero from an American comic book publisher.
Although I don’t often watch anime or read a lot of manga, I do enjoy Dragon Ball Z, and Goku is my favorite character from the show. Now, let’s find out what makes him such a great hero. Son Goku, also known as Goku, is the main character of the Dragon Ball manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. Son Goku’s real name, which translates to “awake to nothingness,” is Son.
What are you waiting for? Please read our blog about History of Goku below.
Early Life and Childhood of Goku
Goku is modeled after Sun Wukong, the lead character in the traditional Chinese tale Journey to the West, throughout the entire series. Goku initially appears in the manga’s chapter one, “Bulma and Son Goku,” which was first released on December 3, 1984, in Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. He was an eccentric monkey-tailed child with incredible strength who studied martial arts. He meets Bulma and goes on her search for the wish-fulfilling Dragon Balls with her.
Goku’s parents are Jeanne Coco, whose true name is Kakarot and whose Saiyan name is Bardock, a low-class Saiyan fighter. On the planet Vegeta, he was born. Goku was brought up by the elderly Son Gohan, who gave him the name Son Goku. Goku was originally sent to Earth as a newborn with the intention of destroying it. Goku was a challenging and aggressive child at first, but after sustaining head trauma in an accident, he changed into a more amiable and good-hearted person, abandoning his plan to destroy Earth.
Gohan instructed him in martial arts and became aware of Goku’s changes into something resembling a werewolf after being exposed to the full moon. Goku rebelled and changed into a Great Ape even though he was told by the man never to look at the moon. He killed Gohan by mistake while in his changed state. In the mountains, Goku practically raised himself after the passing of his adoptive grandfather.
Goku in Dragon Ball Adventures
At this point, when he is around 11 or 12, Goku meets Bulma for the first time in his life. He joins her on her search for the seven Dragon Balls, and together they experience a number of adventures while making new friends and allies along the way. One of these is Master Roshi, who teaches him more martial arts techniques, teaches him many of his crucial moves, and even grants him his renowned flying cloud, “Nimbus”. Goku makes the decision to temporarily part ways with his buddies and go back to Master Roshi for training. Goku encounters Krillin at this moment, and the two wind up becoming close friends.
Moving ahead a little, Tambourine, one of King Piccolo’s sons, kills Krillin in retaliation. Piccolo is killed by Goku after being punched in the chest. With his last breath, he punched a beautiful hole through his chest. The Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z that everyone is familiar with, Piccolo Jr., is contained in an egg that Piccolo spits out. He instructed Son Gohan and Goku. Goku starts looking for a way to perhaps bring the dragon Shenron back to life. All of his pals who were killed by Piccolo are brought back to life when he does.
In order to be ready for the 23rd World Martial Arts Competition, Goku then starts working out with Mr. Popo. Despite sustaining numerous wounds, Goku defeats Piccolo in the championship match to claim the title. Following this, Goku marries Chichi, a young woman he met while traveling.
Well, everything I just mentioned occurred in Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Z, which is my favorite part of the franchise and, I believe, what the majority of viewers would agree upon, is then introduced to us after Dragon Ball. We also encounter Goku’s brother Raddatz there, who was furious with him for not annihilating everyone on earth. Of course, Goku didn’t due to the already mentioned brain injury, which made him a good-hearted Earth defender. In addition, Dragon Ball Z is credited with creating the widely used meme and animated gif, “it’s over 9000,” which Vegeta exclaims as he reads Goku’s strength level.
I won’t go into detail about every story that occurs in Dragon Ball Z, though. Nonetheless, it did give us the Saiyan, Frieza, Android, Majin Buu, and many more fantastic sagas. The majority of the best storylines originated from Dragon Ball Z. Don’t get me wrong, Dragon Ball was fantastic and the original, but Dragon Ball Z was far superior.
About Dragon Ball GT, it was just passably good and isn’t even canon with the rest of the Dragon Ball timeline. Why then is it not considered canon with the rest of the Dragon Ball timeline? Funny that you would ask. I will inform you. Because it wasn’t based on the Dragon Ball manga or made by Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball GT isn’t regarded as canon. As a result, it is not thought to be canon.
Well, in a later episode, I’ll delve deeper into the Dragon Ball Z storylines. I might make videos to explain each tale. Please let me know in the comments if you want me to do that.
History of Goku: Super Saiyan transformation and Goku’s first transformation
Returning to Goku, we must discuss one of his most interesting characteristics: the various stages of his Super Saiyanness. You only have Super Saiyan Goku, who underwent the Super Saiyan change during the last conflict with Frieza. As a result of Krillin, Goku’s best friend, being slaughtered by Frieza, Goku lost control of himself and attained the legendary level of power that makes Frieza so dreaded. While in this form, Goku’s eyes are green, his hair turns golden and stands on end, and he exudes an aura that resembles a golden flame.
Goku’s numbers are 50 times higher in this form than in his base form, which naturally enables Goku to overcome Frieza. His good-hearted personality is now replaced by ruthlessness, fury, and rage, which has an impact on his personality while he is in this form.
One of the thing we should know about history of Goku is the second Super Saiyan transformation: Super Saiyan 2 Goku. Similar to the previous change, Goku’s hair is golden and stands on end. His aura, however, changes to appear more furious and flame-like, coupled with crackling blue energy sparks. His hairdo is also more stiff.
In the manga and anime versions of Dragon Ball Z, this is the strongest form. Goku’s energy soars to 400 times his regular power in this form, giving him four times the power of a Super Saiyan 2. This form was sufficient to combat Majin Buu in both his adult and child forms. However, he can only maintain this form for a brief period of time because, like Super Saiyan 2, his power quickly depletes. Although Super Saiyan 4 from Dragon Ball GT isn’t exactly canon, I still feel compelled to discuss it. Goku uses this form against Baby Fujita, giving him access to it.
Goku’s appearance in this form is a hybrid of the Saiyan humanoid and the Great Ape metamorphosis. He has a tail, shadow trim around his eyes, and crimson-colored fur.
Another thing we should know about history of Goku is Goku’s powers sharply increase to 4000 times normal, an increase of 10 times over the Super Saiyan 3 cap. This form, in contrast to the previous three, has no time restriction and his body is capable of handling an increase in power of 4000 times without shutting down. The form can be used at any time, but Goku loses his ability to reason and turns more violent and instinctive when in it. He frequently struggles to restrain his own power.
Friends, don’t worry; Goku gets even stronger because, well, why not? Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan God—yep, a god—in the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods film.
When the Oracle fish warns the God of Destruction that a Super Saiyan God would emerge before him, he reveals this change. In this form, Goku still has the same general appearance, but his eyes and hair have changed to a crimson hue, and he has an explosive fiery aura. Goku can only take this form by using the power of six Saiyans with pure hearts. Because to the great level of power in this form, Goku can match the God of Destruction blow for blow but it also powers down more faster than other forms.
You might be thinking that Goku cannot possibly become stronger than a deity, but guess what? You’d be mistaken. Considering that I’m going to use the word “Super Saiyan” frequently, this is about to become a little muddled. Goku’s training with Whis results in him becoming a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. Using this form, Goku can possess the heavenly strength of a Super Saiyan God form while in his Super Saiyan form. Is that unclear?
I see, it wasn’t? The Super Saiyan God form must be mastered before a Super Saiyan can take on that form and infuse the transformation with heavenly Chi. So yeah, Goku is definitely a freak of strength. Because the new series Dragon Ball Super is due to premiere in the US and there’s no way we won’t eventually receive more improvements to Goku’s abilities, I’m just interested to see what they’ll come up with after Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. I almost forgot to mention that there is a Super Saiyan 5, but not really.
It is because it is not authorized. Goku’s non-canon transformation into Super Saiyan 5 occurs in the fan-made Dragonball AF series. Its exact power is unknown, however it is far stronger than a Super Saiyan 4.
Let’s speak about Goku’s skills and abilities, or at least the most well-known ones since he has so many freaking powers, now that I’ve covered all of his Super Saiyan forms which appear during history of Goku. He is well known for his Kamehameha blast, which is a blue energy wave that is launched from cupped hands after saying the attack’s name. Another move is Solar Flare, in which Goku surrounds his face with his fists before ejecting a blinding burst of light. In order to make a speedy getaway or create space for an attack, it can be utilized to blind opponents. Goku and Vegeta dance as part of the Fusion Dance, which unites their bodies to create Gogeta.
The technique’s short duration of about 30 minutes is a drawback. Another move Goku can use is the homing energy wave, which fires an energy wave that follows and zeroes in on the opponent by latching onto their energy signature.
The Spirit Bomb is a technique used by Goku to create a powerful ball of good energy that is extremely effective against evil creatures. Goku uses the method known as “Instant Transmission,” in which he normally presses two fingers on his forehead to detect a chi signature, after which he instantaneously teleports to the area. Goku possesses a plethora of additional abilities, including flight, telekinesis, telepathy, and even more unique attacks. But I believe you all get my point, which is that he is incredibly strong.
